Lazy Me

I don't beleive it's been so long since I've last posted.

I think I must be spending more time reading other peoples blogs and forgetting to write my own haahhah
Here's a quick Mother's day card that was made for my mother in law.

I stitched and beaded the dragonfly.. which looks lovely when the beads catch the sunlight. Then added some pretty background papers and ribbons embossed some card using one of the Cuttle bug folders..a touch of ink and finished.
I really like the way the orange and green works together.

I've also had a wedding anniversary and so made a really quick card for my darling husband...

Who normally forgets.. so I wasn't going to bother.

Hence the quick card. " You stay in bed babes while I make you coffee.. out with the tape and the stamps.

I think I just got away with it...

Though he did wonder why it took so long to make the coffee . lol

I was also asked to make a name for a little girl called MACEY.

Who has Teddy Bears all around her bedroom.

This is made using Sizzix Bigz alphabet letter which are cut out in cardboard and glued together then paint or cover with paper...etc

The Teddy Bears are make from air dry clay and Ranger paints using moulds.

Currently working on a wedding.. so when that's completed I'll have more time to play.

That's all for now

Layout No 5

Here's a Quick attempt at a Christmas Layout. Rachael was 3 to 4 years old in this pic... it was her 1st visit to see Santa. I So wish I had taken more pictures when she was younger.
You can never seem to have enough when they are all grown up.

Background paper made by myself using glimmer mist's... Perfect Pearls and some Tim Holtz Inks. Alphabet is Broadway Melody.
All Other Dies.. Quickutz. Some of the buttons have been covered with Ice Stickles.. it's a shame you can't see the colours esp from the glimmer mist's..they give a great shimmer effect.

So Lorna... here it is... My Hallowen Layout complete with stitch line (at least until I have my CS3 photoshop working.)

It's Slightly rushed but please keep in mind that this is only my fourth ever layout.

Last Day Of Christmas

Today is the 6th of January the 12th night.. the last day of Christmas so down come the trimmings.

Rachael has gone back to Uni.. Most people are back in work, unless your one of the lucky ones like myself that has managed to get a few extra days off.
I read a blog today, on it they were complaining that Christmas wasn't like it used to be.. it's to COMMERCIAL...
That so annoys me... If it's to commercial it's because they themselves are making so.
My Christmas had presents ... yes... but there was also baking, singing, family, church old friends and laughter.

Christmas is what YOU make it and if you want to get caught up in the Commercial side of things.. then go ahead. In my family we keep traditions and Christmas is what it's always been.

I should be putting the decorations away.. but instead I was slightly distracted with photos.. and scrapped this page of my Daughter when she was age between 3-4. (memory isn't what it was)

What suprises will the new year have in store for us all

Here's hoping it's a good year!

Nearly Christmas

I know it's been a shamefully long time since i've posted..
and it's not that i've gone off crafting...
but i've been really busy with the singing lately.

Plus I was kinda hopeing that Santa will bring me a nice new camera.. as my daughter has taken the only decent one in the house to Uni with her... well I suppose it was her's after all .

So here are some sorry Christmas cards take with my Mobile phone...

The bauble is a cuttle bug die... and I must say I have always been very impressed with thier products..
Esp thier embossing folders.. which I've used on the green decoration at the back. Oh and just in case your wondering... how the ribbon stays in such good shape after being in the post... good old silicone glue. I Couldn't do without it.

The next card is a Christmas Tree stamp... with some Stickles and Bows added...

I just love Christmas Trees....

Talking of which.. I must be the only house in the street without one.. as I am awaiting the arrive of number one daughter.. who won't let me put up the decorations and tree until she arrives home on Sunday....

Bahh Humbug
These cards are part of a set of Corporate Christmas Cards I made for my hubby..
The photo is of the Brecon Beacons taken by a friend.. as I don't have a decent camera... Oh did I mention that already lol....

Santa will soon be here...

Just wanted to post my first attempt at an acetate card..which I made for a friend.

I must say I did enjoy making it.. so I'm going to it another go...

I'm thinking Christmas Cards and snowflakes...

Poorly Pets..

Has it really been that long since i've posted..
My new years resolution next year is to be more active on my blog.

Anyway... as you can see I am a dog lover.. I think the pic above and the name of the blog sort of gives it away.
My Darling Molly, the darkest and oldest of my Basset Hounds (the sleeping dog on the left)has been very poorly..this is a dog who is so laid back she almost falls over..nothing bothers her she hasn't had a days illness in the 11 years that she has come to live with us.( I never say own as Molly is very much a free spirit).

My lovely girl was rushed in to the vets with a temp of 106 and has had a four day stay with them, placed on a drip while they frantically fort to bring down her temperature.

Boy was I worried sick to say they least and having to leave her behind.. it was heartbreaking, I felt I was letting her down when she needed me the most.
I knew that she would be well cared for and would be given what she needed to hopefully get her on the road to recovery..but I had this overwhelming sinking feeling, We wouldn't be bringing her home again.

Megan (my wild thing on the right of the photo) who is epileptic and not well herself ...cried the whole time Molly was away..
She cried on her walks.. she cried when she woke up.. she cried at meal times and stopped eating.. So it wasn't just us missing her.... We were not a happy household.
We were preparing ourselves for the worse..

But all's well that ends well.. after 4 days and fantastic care by our vets...Molly is home, back where she belongs.. They treated her for hepatitis, anyone that owns a hound will know.. when out on their walks.. will pick up the most disgusting things.

She's not 100% she has a cocktail of meds to take..
but each day she seems to be getting back to her normal laid back self...
and we are thankful for it.

It's crazy how one dog can have such effect on a household...
Peace has been restored.. and all is well...calm and happy at our home once again.

Only two more weeks for Darling Daughter to start attending Uni.

It's going to be really strange her not being here..Just my husband and myself after 19 years of never leaving her.
